The Pleiades (M45)
The Pleiades star cluster is reflection nebula it is sometimes referred to as “The Seven Sisters” or better known to astronomers as M45.
The Pleiades star cluster is reflection nebula it is sometimes referred to as “The Seven Sisters” or better known to astronomers as M45. The stars in this cluster are thought to have formed around 100 million years ago, making them only 1/50th the age of our Sun. This object lies at a distance of 425 light years away. This photo was taken by Will Jackson and Kevin Bartee on the evening of October 2nd, 2010 out of Pleasant Point Observatory.
